Globle โ Privacy Policy
Short version: the app has no accounts and never asks for your name, email address or location. Your streak, stats and achievements live on your device. The only data leaving the app is what our analytics and advertising SDKs collect โ a device identifier, usage data and crash diagnostics โ and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
1. Who we are
This app and this website are published by AppStation Studio Pte. Ltd. ("AppStation Studio", "we", "us"), a company incorporated in Singapore (UEN 202240001Z) with its registered office at 68 Circular Road, #02-01, Singapore 049422. AppStation Studio is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.
Globle - Guess the Country is a mobile geography puzzle game containing three daily games โ one played on a 3D globe, one on country outlines, and one on flags. The app is branded GeoGuru on screen and on this website. This policy covers the Android app distributed through Google Play, together with geoguru.org.
For anything in this policy, you can reach us at hello@geoguru.org.
2. What data is collected
We do not operate our own user accounts or servers that store your gameplay. All data described below is collected by third-party SDKs embedded in the app (analytics and advertising), for the purposes shown. This matches the disclosures in our Google Play Data safety form.
| Data category | Examples | Purpose | Linked to you |
|---|---|---|---|
| IdentifiersDevice ID | Android Advertising ID (AAID), app-instance ID, other resettable device identifiers | Analytics ยท Third-Party Advertising | No |
| Usage DataProduct Interaction | Screens opened, puzzles started and solved, session length, taps on in-app elements | Analytics | No |
| Usage DataAdvertising Data | Ads shown, ad impressions and clicks, ad-request metadata | Third-Party Advertising ยท Analytics | No |
| Diagnostics | Crash logs, error and stability reports, performance data, device model, OS version | Analytics (app stability and performance) | No |
The two purposes above mean the following:
- Analytics โ understanding aggregate usage so we can fix crashes, see which puzzles are too hard, and improve the app.
- Third-Party Advertising โ displaying advertisements from a third-party ad network inside the app. Ads are how the app stays free.
None of this data is linked to your identity, because the app never learns your identity in the first place. Data is collected in transit over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
3. What we never collect
- No account data โ no name, username, email address, phone number or password. The app has no sign-up.
- No precise or approximate location. The app does not request any location permission. Guessing countries on a globe does not require knowing where you are.
- No contacts, photos, microphone, camera, health, financial or messaging data.
- No user-generated content is uploaded to us.
Your game progress stays on your device. Streaks, solved puzzles, statistics, achievements and settings are stored locally in the app. If you uninstall the app, that progress is deleted with it โ we hold no copy and cannot restore it.
4. Tracking and your advertising ID
We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
The app does not link the data collected here with data from other companies' apps or websites to build a profile of you, and does not share or sell it to data brokers.
The advertising SDK may receive your Android Advertising ID (AAID) โ a resettable identifier provided by Google Play services. It is used to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure ad delivery, and to detect invalid traffic. You can reset or delete it at any time; see Your choices. If you delete it, ads become non-personalised.
The app does not use any non-resettable hardware identifier such as the IMEI, MAC address or Android ID for advertising.
5. Third-party SDKs
The app includes SDKs from the providers below. When they collect data as described above, they act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies, and we recommend reading them:
- Google AdMob (advertising) โ Google Privacy Policy ยท How AdMob uses data
- Google Analytics for Firebase / Firebase Crashlytics (analytics and crash diagnostics) โ Firebase Privacy & Security
- Google Play services (app distribution and platform functionality) โ Google Privacy Policy
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
6. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK)
- Consent โ for personalised advertising and non-essential analytics where consent is required. In the EEA and UK the app presents a consent choice (Google UMP / IAB TCF) before such data is used; you can change it at any time from the app's Settings.
- Legitimate interests โ for crash diagnostics, security, fraud and invalid-traffic prevention, and for keeping the app running reliably.
If you decline consent, the app still works โ you will simply see non-personalised ads.
7. Your choices and controls
- Advertising ID: Settings โ Google โ Ads, then Delete advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalisation. On some devices this sits under Settings โ Privacy โ Ads.
- Consent choices (EEA/UK): reopen the consent form from the app's Settings screen to change or withdraw your choice.
- Clear local data: Settings โ Apps โ Globle โ Storage โ Clear data resets your streak, stats and achievements.
- Delete everything: uninstalling the app removes all locally stored progress and settings from your device.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because we hold no accounts and no directly identifying information, we usually cannot locate data relating to a specific individual on our side. To exercise rights over data held by the SDK providers, contact them directly using the links in section 5, or write to us at hello@geoguru.org and we will help where we can.
9. Data retention
We do not maintain our own database of user data. Analytics, advertising and diagnostics data is retained by the respective providers according to their own retention schedules โ typically between 2 and 14 months for event-level analytics data, and shorter for ad-serving data. Data stored on your device is kept until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
10. Children
The app is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). It is not part of the Google Play Families programme. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact hello@geoguru.org and we will act on it.
11. International data transfers
AppStation Studio Pte. Ltd. is established in Singapore. Where we act on data relating to users in the EEA or the UK, that processing therefore takes place outside those regions, on the basis of the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism.
Our SDK providers may separately process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses or the EUโUS Data Privacy Framework, as described in the providers' own privacy policies.
12. This website (geoguru.org)
Sections 2โ11 describe the mobile app. The geoguru.org website itself is a small set of static pages with no accounts, no forms and no ad serving. It uses Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic, which collects:
- Pages viewed, referring site, approximate visit duration and clicks on the store links.
- Browser, operating system, device type and screen size.
- Your IP address, which Google uses to derive an approximate location (typically city or region level) and then discards. We never see your IP address or a precise location.
To do this, Google Analytics stores a first-party cookie (_ga) in your browser containing a randomly generated identifier. It is used to tell repeat visits apart, not to identify you personally, and it is not linked to anything in the app.
You can opt out by using Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by blocking cookies for this site in your browser settings, or by sending a Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control signal that your browser or an extension supports. Nothing on the site requires cookies to work.
The site also loads the Nunito typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com; Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change what the app collects or why, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the Google Play Data safety section. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
